Darryl and Sara are my favs.  They can’t take a bad picture, I’ve tried.
They asked me to do a some professional business portraits for them for their new website at Olio Communications.  I love shooting near the Pearl district in Portland.  So much inspiration to be had.

Business portraits time.  I photographed this great looking crew from Seasons Management last year, using my mobile studio.  Which includes a basic white background and a couple of lights.  However, this year they were looking for something a little more environmental.

For the past couple of years I’ve worked with Building Champions and helped cover their event The Experience purely through still photography.  This year we kicked it up a notch and added video to mix.

Video is a whole new beast, but I love it.  Also being able to use the same equipment that I use for shooting stills (Canon 5D Mark II), makes things so versatile.

Be sure to switch over the quality to HD.

blum flowers portland 001 Portland Wedding | Florist Blum Design In Flowers | Vendor Spotlight

Having the ability to tell the story of someone through video here in Portland is an amazing thing. Over the next couple of weeks and months I’m going to be featuring some of the most amazing Portland Wedding Vendors that this city has to offer.

First up, Blum; Design in Flowers. It’s owner Jordan Gladow has an amazing story of how she got involved with flowers while in college, that ended up taking her all the way to London to work for a major floist there. Now that she’s back stateside and she is sharing with her portland wedding clients what she has learned over the years to create timeless arrangements, that are still very clean and modern.

Vendor Spotlight:
Blum Design in Flowers is an amazing floral studio located in Portland, OR. I wanted to spotlight “The Why” in what they do.
Voted best florist by Oregon Bride Magazine in 2009 and 2010, Blum’s real passion comes from being so tremendously gifted in designing gorgeous flower arrangements for almost any event.

Recently I was asked by an amazing Lake Oswego company called Human Investing to take some relaxed corporate headshots.  Honestly it was great to take portraits this way.  Admittedly in the past whenever I had done any sort of corporate portraits in Portland, they always would come off as school yearbook photos.  Well never again!  The way in which I went about this shoot was totally different and an amazing experience.  Not only because I got to meet with some great financial minds, but also because I believe clients will get to show their personality more through a relaxed corporate photograph.
