A while back I had the honor of covering Darryl and Sara’s Wedding in Lake Oswego, Oregon. Years later they have a new addition to their family, Violet. So we went out in Portland, Oregon and spend sometime walking around and enjoyed a brief break in the weather.
Having the ability to tell the story of someone through video here in Portland is an amazing thing. Over the next couple of weeks and months I’m going to be featuring some of the most amazing Portland Wedding Vendors that this city has to offer.
First up, Blum; Design in Flowers. It’s owner Jordan Gladow has an amazing story of how she got involved with flowers while in college, that ended up taking her all the way to London to work for a major floist there. Now that she’s back stateside and she is sharing with her portland wedding clients what she has learned over the years to create timeless arrangements, that are still very clean and modern.
Recently I was asked by an amazing Lake Oswego company called Human Investing to take some relaxed corporate headshots. Honestly it was great to take portraits this way. Admittedly in the past whenever I had done any sort of corporate portraits in Portland, they always would come off as school yearbook photos. Well never again! The way in which I went about this shoot was totally different and an amazing experience. Not only because I got to meet with some great financial minds, but also because I believe clients will get to show their personality more through a relaxed corporate photograph.
Portraits in the park! I used this spot a lot this holiday season. Christmas portraits in portland look so good in color. It’s hard to make a black and white print when you lose so much flavor in each photo. I took them just above the Oregon Zoo for these photos, this place makes from some great family Christmas portraits.
I’ve known the Clarks ever since I moved to Portland. In fact, I was the wedding photographer in Canby for one of the daughter’s special day.
Fall was in full bloom, and although it was a little damp and cold (as Oregon usually is) the family were good sports. We went to the Washington Park/Hoyt Arboretum/Oregon Zoo area. I’m really not sure what to call this area except for it being located just above the Oregon Zoo. It’s sort of been a place that I’ve been using a lot actually. Portland looks so amazing around this time of year, which makes for great Christmas Photos.
